LIV by design – Good Life Table Launch Party

Through my connections with the International Special Event Society, I had the opportunity to meet a talented up and coming Wedding and Event Planner Olivia Sharratt. She moved here to Austin from the LosAngelos market and brings with her fresh ideas and innovative design elements.  When she asked me if I wanted to be a part in helping her showcase one of those elements at her “Good Life Tables Launch Party” I was thrilled.

Olivia, together with her Dad, have created a line of rental furniture called “The Good Life”  Banquet style tables, benches and chairs are sure to be the talk of events in the near future.  Available exclusively through Premier Party Rental.

Just like me to post my favorite.  I can not decide if I like this one for any particular reason, or if it is because all of the elements just play so well together.  The color of the stain on the table and bench all the way down to the little tiny succulent place card holders.  It’s just perfect.  The center design for this table was composed of a succulent garden in the center with little satellite pots that were planted with different varieties and finished off with luscious green moss.

Lisa Hause with Studio 563 captured this amazing shot of the center design.  Olivia’s vision included paper flowers that she created herself.  I just love how creative people can be!

My second favorite table was the Old Mexico theme.  I am in love with the brilliant colors and vintage containers that “Liv” chose for this table.  The multicolored Pop bottles were the perfect accent.

Here is a cute shot of Liv with her son at the party!  Congrats Liv and Thank you for asking me to be a part of it!

Until next time!

Recent Open House Participation

Delores Crum of Premier Party Central asked us to create a signature piece for the Grand Re-Opening of the newly remodeled north location showroom.  We work with Dee, Kristi, and Diane very often so there was no way we could turn them down!  Here is a few shots of our inspiration and arrangement.

Ivory David Austin Garden Roses and lavender "Blue Curiosa" Roses were the focal flowers

Yellow daffodil were the perfect accents

Drama was created using very tall Forsithia branches

I really enjoyed my time there meeting other professionals and Brides.  Congratulations Dee!

One World Theatre

The second event that we participated in making a success was the April Design trends meeting at One World Theatre.  There were four seasons featured on the Good Life Tables offered by Liv by Design’s owner Olivia Sharrat, but this one was our favorite.

This design was created to be a playfull addition to a summer table.  With a foundation of sea foam blue linen, the choices for flowers needed to pop against the background.  We chose enormous Sunflowers, bright orange Dahlia, hypericum berreis, Gerbera Daisies, Rannuncullus and Tulips to create this trio.

Until next time

Blossom’s First DIY Bride

Donya, our Bride along with  her friends and family had a great time in the studio designing  centerpieces for her Wedding with a little help from Blossom.  Creamy white Carnations, and green “Kermit” poms were used in abundance to create the 18 wreaths for the guest tables.  The “Do it Yourself” concept allows a bride to come into the studio and design her own floral with help and is budget friendly.

DIY party

Once the centerpieces are completed, Donya had the option to take them home with her and place them on the tables herself, or store them in our large walk in floral cooler.  She chose to store them in the chilly environment and have us deliver them to her ceremony and reception site.  Here they are sitting pretty and waiting for their final destination.

Carnation and pom cernterpieces in the cooler waiting for the big day.

The  reception was held at The Mansion at Judges Hill.  We have had the joy of working with the awesome staff at the Mansion and are always excited at another chance.   The tables looked exquisite with navy blue and lime green table runners.  The Carnation and pom wreaths were placed around tall colored glass bottle vases that were adorned with silver beaded sprays jetting from the tops.  These were fun and economical centerpieces that looked far more costly than they were!

Festive DIY centerpieces!

The team made 18 wreaths at the DIY party, and when we were setting the tables, there were only 17… What to do with the last one?  Celia, a Blossom’s floral Designer,  came up with the fantastic idea to suspend the last arrangement around the squatty sweetheart tables vases for a unique twist on the design.  Way to get creative!

Cute squatty centerpiece

I have seen many candy bars in my days, but I liked this one so much, I had to share it with you.  The apothocary jars were filled with lime green and navy blue candies of all sorts.  Before we called it done and left the Mansion, Celia and I decided to help the family of the Bride finish up the presentation.  I think we ended up with a sugar rush!

Located in the heart of Downtown Austin, The Allan House offers a uniquly spacious Victorian mansion with tons of Texas history and Victorian charm. Complete with a romantic courtyard filled with ancient oak trees and enough room to host your wedding ceremony outdoors. The house was built by Scottish immigrant in 1883 and boasts wide verandas and old-fashioned parlors.

The Allan house was recently named the Best Spot for an Austin Wedding on The open house was held onTuesday, September 27th at 6 in the evening. Blossom’s along with many other vendors were invited to showcase our wares for the night. Here are some photos and thoughts from the event.

We decorated the entry way to the house with clusters of seasonal Ghords and pumpkins resting on top of a blaket of sheet moss. The grouping was accented with festive bicolor “Carnival” Roses, mums and hypericum berries.

Lanterns were all aglow as guests arrived and signed in at the entry table.

The theme was pumpkins and lanterns

The centerpeices in the courtyard were modeled after the dozens of dangling white paper lanterns that the Allan house has hanging in the trees. These huge bubble balls filled with a rolling hill of sheet moss, were accented with seasonal sunflowers, Carnival Roses, burgundy Pom Poms, river rock and swirling bear grass.

The cocktail tables carried the theme from the front walkway by resting lanterns on top of a blanket of sheet moss and accenting them with floral.

The house was full of yummy food, confections, photographs, oppulent linen, informative planners and a bunch of wonderful brides and their families and friends. One of my favorite Brides is Maria, and she fell in love with this bouquet and wanted a photo taked while she was holding it! She is getting married next year and loves the soft oppulent feel of dark purple, lavender and navy blue tones that this bouqeut boasts. I knew we would hit it off when I spied the Fossil watch she was wearing and mentioned that I have the exact same one, and it is my favorite peice of jewlery!

Overall the event was a success, and Whitney, Kristen, Dee and all the staff at the Alan house were pleased! Make sure to check out their site to stay informed on when the next open house is scheduled for so you can be in on the fun and see what we do next!
