LIV by design – Good Life Table Launch Party

Through my connections with the International Special Event Society, I had the opportunity to meet a talented up and coming Wedding and Event Planner Olivia Sharratt. She moved here to Austin from the LosAngelos market and brings with her fresh ideas and innovative design elements.  When she asked me if I wanted to be a part in helping her showcase one of those elements at her “Good Life Tables Launch Party” I was thrilled.

Olivia, together with her Dad, have created a line of rental furniture called “The Good Life”  Banquet style tables, benches and chairs are sure to be the talk of events in the near future.  Available exclusively through Premier Party Rental.

Just like me to post my favorite.  I can not decide if I like this one for any particular reason, or if it is because all of the elements just play so well together.  The color of the stain on the table and bench all the way down to the little tiny succulent place card holders.  It’s just perfect.  The center design for this table was composed of a succulent garden in the center with little satellite pots that were planted with different varieties and finished off with luscious green moss.

Lisa Hause with Studio 563 captured this amazing shot of the center design.  Olivia’s vision included paper flowers that she created herself.  I just love how creative people can be!

My second favorite table was the Old Mexico theme.  I am in love with the brilliant colors and vintage containers that “Liv” chose for this table.  The multicolored Pop bottles were the perfect accent.

Here is a cute shot of Liv with her son at the party!  Congrats Liv and Thank you for asking me to be a part of it!

Until next time!

Recent Open House Participation

Delores Crum of Premier Party Central asked us to create a signature piece for the Grand Re-Opening of the newly remodeled north location showroom.  We work with Dee, Kristi, and Diane very often so there was no way we could turn them down!  Here is a few shots of our inspiration and arrangement.

Ivory David Austin Garden Roses and lavender "Blue Curiosa" Roses were the focal flowers

Yellow daffodil were the perfect accents

Drama was created using very tall Forsithia branches

I really enjoyed my time there meeting other professionals and Brides.  Congratulations Dee!

One World Theatre

The second event that we participated in making a success was the April Design trends meeting at One World Theatre.  There were four seasons featured on the Good Life Tables offered by Liv by Design’s owner Olivia Sharrat, but this one was our favorite.

This design was created to be a playfull addition to a summer table.  With a foundation of sea foam blue linen, the choices for flowers needed to pop against the background.  We chose enormous Sunflowers, bright orange Dahlia, hypericum berreis, Gerbera Daisies, Rannuncullus and Tulips to create this trio.

Until next time

Have a little Faith

Faith’s wedding was very well planned by Keri Wotton of Leave the Details to Me Wedding and Event Consulting.  Her vision was clear and relaxed and made for some creative ingenuity when designing her florals.  We found out about Faith’s wedding about three weeks before the event.  Gathering our forces, and creative juices, was not tough at all.

Faith’s Bridal Bouquet was created using blush pink Peonies, white yellow and hot pink Tulips, antique green Hydragnea, mini calla lilies, Crespedia balls, and glorious hot pink Gerbera Daisies.  We finished it off with some soft variegted pittosporum and a satin ribbon wrapped handle.  Photo by A la Vie Photography’s Pam Holtz.

My team and I arrived at the Horseshoe Bay resort with all of the materials and structure to create a floral Chuppah for Faith’s wedding ceremony.  There just happened to be a wedding just before hers that we needed to steer clear of, so off to the right of the ceremony area, we set up to create the legs of the structure to be moved after the first wedding was over.  Here is a shot of one of the arrangements I created during that time.

Here are a few shots of the Chuppah during construction.  We had 20 minutes to get the structure up, and complete the floral arrangements.  Phew!

The Ceremony

Faith found large tomatoe cans that she wrapped with yellow and hot pink crepe paper to create a very “green” vibe to her reception. The centerpeices were designed in the fresh picked European design style.

They were surrounded with wine bottles that we inserted single stems of coordinating flowers.  My staff really rocked this one!  I could not have done it without them!

Inspirations of the Seasons

I was recently asked by Deidre Brown of Detailed Weddings and Events to create floral decor for her two seasoned tables at the Diamond Domain Bridal Soirre.

Our “Winter” table was titled “Love Sparkles” and featured a white Manzanita tree adorned with dozens of icy crystal drops, white Dendrobium Orchids, and a hidden friend.

Dozens of icy crystals were hung from the branches

We surrounded the tree with clusters of pave arrangements which included white hydrangea, white David Austin Garden Roses, winter berries, rannuncullus and Dusty Miller.

The Winter Table

Fluffy wintery arrangements for a chilly vibe.

Deidre finished the table with wine corks for favors on the plates, place card holders and tons of bling accents.

My favorite was Fall!   Leonitas Roses, antique green Hydrangea, Iced Tea Spray Roses and Hypericum Berries made this arrangement very elegant.

Baroque Fall table setting

While I was designing the center design and placing things on our design table it felt as if there was something missing… some sort of added drama.  I stopped and remembered a cluster of chandelier forms that we purchased in Orlando, and that inspired a floral chandelier we were to hang from the ceiling of the tent.

The finished table design was stunning.

Linens, tables, chairs, and table settings were all provided by Premier Party Central.  When a vision is shared with a planner, and that planner has the right connections in place, the result is flawless.

Mona and Joe

Mona and Joe were wed at Duchman Family Winery located in Driftwood Texas.  Mona fell in love with the “Picasso” Mini calla lilies and wanted nothing else.  The wedding was an intimate gathering of friends and family with floral accents to embellish the royal attire of her Bridal Party.  Here are a few images provided by our friends over at Rebel with a Camera!

River Place Country Club Open House!

Having a rare weekend with no bookings left Celia and I wondering if we should hang around the house, or get out there and help out some local venues with their happenings.  During our research of who, what and where we found two that totally rocked our vibe that we decided to participate in.

Dividing and conquering was the focus of the day as I traveled to River Place and Celia help La Paloma Event Center.

Blossom's Table

UT Orange and burgundy bouquet

First things first… I had to bring this little birdie along to the Open House.  When we first purchased him it was for the Domain Bridal Soirre.  The fall table needed some whimsy and I found this plump little guy and had to get him.  Since then he has been hidden among our decor at every venue open house and bridal show.  I just couldn’t not bring him along today.  I am starting to thin that maybe I should give him a name… hmm…

Fall Lantern Flowers

Fall Table Design

The theme for the day was “The four seasons”  Here is a few shots of our fall inspired table.  Katherine with The River Place Country Club chose a chocolate pin tuck linen and gold toned chair sashes wrapped around the dark mahogany “chivari” chairs for the foundation.  I created a stunningly large wrought iron lantern that was spilling out hydrangea, Black Magic Roses, UT orange “Mambo” spray roses, Hypericum Berries and gorgeous red Mini Calla lilies.  Seeded eucalyptus spills from around the arrangement and onto the table.  I flanked the arrangement with a few really unique vases that I found at consignment and placed pillar candles in them for a bit of candle light.
Red Mini Calla

These Red Mini Calla lilies are my FAV of the day!

I love the red mini calla lilies!  They are so perfect and rare, I think it has been over a year since I have had the pleasure of working with them.
Our Summer design

Oncidium Orchids layed amongst a bunch of beach things

The summer table was a long “roman” style setting with Orange, pink and yellow linen.  The colors on this table reminded me of the hot summers at the beach, so I wanted the floral to refect that vibe.  Laying a Manzanita branch on the runner down the center of the table and interspercing yellow Oncidium Orchids, star fish and sea shells was just the touch it needed.

Tulips under glass

Yellow orange and pink tulips designed in cluster fashion

The spring table started with the pan tone color of the year linen “honeysuckle”.  I then took some teal tinted river rocks and accented the bottom of three pill vases , added a splash of water and artfully filled each vase with a  grouping of tulips.  What says spring like a tulip?

Variegated Pink Tulip

Tulips are trained and swirling around the inside of the vase.

Aparently I did not take any photos of the winter wonderland table with my Canon One Shot Camera… so I will have to wait until the professional photos come in to share that set .

Until next time.
